Abstract

Poets, both ancient and contemporary, have long dedicated themselves to praising the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Among those who excelled in this literary art was Sheikh Abdul Karim al-Fakun al-Qasantini in his poem 'Mamma Yumdahu 'inda al-Ghummah wa al-Ghayahib al-Mudlahimmah' (That Which Is Praised in Times of Distress and Overwhelming Darkness). Alongside his poetic talent, the Sheikh is revered as one of the pillars of Algerian scholarship and reform; hence, it is our duty to study his works and bring recognition to him, for honoring his stature elevates the standing of the Algerian nation. Through this scholarly article, we aim to highlight his status by presenting his biography and focusing on his literary aesthetic, particularly within the genre of Prophetic panegyrics and the profound meanings it carries. Furthermore, we have focused on the unique structure of the poem, which stands as a distinctive form rarely emulated by other poets.
