The ancient sources do not provide sufficient information about the author of "Al-Munzah," Abu al-Qasim, despite his book being considered one of the valuable critical works in Arabic and Maghrebi literature. Much remains unknown about the details of his life. Likewise, little is known about his teachers from whom he received his extensive knowledge. However, there are clues that can help shed light on the man. For instance, the indication that he completed his book "Al-Munzah" in the year 704 AH suggests he was actively engaged in teaching rhetorical sciences at that time. This implies his deep roots in these sciences and his stature as a prominent figure of his era during the Marinid dynasty, known for promoting sciences and advancing education.
