Abstract

The manuscript "My Journey to Visit My Father's Grave" by Sheikh Sidi Dhaifallah bin Muhammad bin Ubb al-Tawati al-Jazairi is considered one of the most important historical sources documenting the region of Tuat in southern Algeria during the 18th century CE (12th century AH) and earlier. While primarily focused on meticulously tracing the life of Sheikh Sidi Muhammad bin Abi al-Mazmuri, the author's father and a prominent figure in the region during his time, the journey also provides numerous scientific, religious, social, and economic insights into the inhabitants of the region during that period and earlier. Therefore, our intention is to shed light on this manuscript journey, particularly its economic dimensions that influenced the lives of Tuat's inhabitants during the 18th century CE and earlier. Thus, it is essential for us to present and describe the manuscript journey itself, along with introducing and clarifying its author.
