The use of Prophetic traditions as evidence in Arabic grammar

Abstract

The topic of using Prophetic traditions (Hadith) as evidence in Arabic grammar has sparked disagreement among grammarians. This research aims to demonstrate that Prophetic traditions are legitimate sources of evidence. Sibawayh himself cited many traditions without explicitly stating them, not using phrases like "reported in a Hadith" or "the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said," but rather presenting the text and saying "the Arabs said." This requires thorough research. We pray to Allah Almighty to enable us to complete it.

There exists a reciprocal relationship between the sciences of Hadith and Arabic grammar in terms of methodology. To elucidate this, a plan has been formulated according to the following points:

• Prophetic traditions are fundamental sources in the principles of Arabic grammar.
• Differences among grammarians regarding this source: a. Opponents: Explanation and interpretation of their objections. b. Advocates: Their responses to the opponents.
• Preference and affirmation.
• The impact of the science of Hadith on the principles of Arabic grammar.
