Ontology of Machine Translation in the Context of Computational Linguistics

Abstract

This article talks about how to make computers understand language. It is a field because it needs precise use of ideas and accurate transfer across languages. The study looks at machine translation as a way to translate languages using computers. To do machine translation you need to know two things. First you need to understand how languages work, including grammar and vocabulary. This means knowing about the ideas and rules in linguistics. Second you need to know about computers and how to make them process language. The study looks at machine translation from a perspective. It uses software that breaks down language and includes models. Examples of machine translation systems used are Google Translate, Golden El Wafi and ChatGPT. This helps understand the challenges of machine translation from both engineering and knowledge perspectives. The article finds that machine translation has made progress.
