The logical mathematical formulation of linguistic theories is essential and unavoidable. This is not only because it provides an opportunity for linguists and engineers to invest in computational linguistic treatments and other linguistic computer research, but also aims to rigorously test its scientific value and assess its ability to interpret the greatest possible number of linguistic phenomena. In this research, we will explore why attempts at formulation were initiated, from which scientific background, and for what purpose? Then, what became of these efforts, and what are the actual results achieved, if any?Downloads
