A Historical Overview of Arabic Language Dictionaries

Abstract

The article addresses fundamental issues related to the Arabic dictionary, especially regarding its importance and origins. It also presents an overview and detailed analysis of the types of Arabic dictionaries, discussing their structures, meanings, and how their entries are organized. Finally, it raises the issue of the Arabic dictionary's familiarity with all Arabic words and expressions, thereby paving the way to discuss the historical dictionary of the Arabic language.
